Feb. 1, 4:30 p.m. – Officers responded to the 800 block of 19th Street for a committal.
Feb. 2, 7:06 a.m. – Vehicle unlock at 1609 Ninth Avenue.
Feb. 2, 11:56 a.m. – Police responded to 1602 11th Avenue for a neighbor dispute.
Feb. 2, 12:13 p.m. – Ambulance assist int eh 1500 block of Rainbow Drive.
Feb. 2, 6:36 p.m. – There were no arrests as a result of a verbal domestic dispute at 1502 Third Avenue.
Feb. 3, 7:36 a.m. – Officers responded to Seventh Avenue and Seventh Street for a hit and un incident that occurred the day before. A 1989 Pontiac, driven by Terry Shedenhelm, Belle Plaine, was struck while it was parked in the 800 block of Eighth Avenue by an unknown vehicle. Damage was estimated at $2,500.
Feb. 3, 3:22 p.m. – Jeffery Van Nevel, 27, Belle Plaine, was arrested in the Chelsea Bank parking lot and charged with driving while revoked. He was transported to the Benton County Jail.
Feb. 3, 6:06 p.m. – Randy Ahrendsen, 50, Belle Plaine, was arrested in the 700 block of 13th Street for public intoxication-enhanced, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was taken to the Benton County Jail.
Feb. 3, 9:15 p.m. – Melissa Moyer, 30, Belle Plaine, was arrested at 115 11th Street and charged with interference with official acts and public intoxication after officers stopped at the residence on a follow-up on an earlier complaint of criminal mischief from Tama County.
Feb. 4, 7:09 a.m. – Officers were unable to locate a stray dog reportedly running at large in the 200 block of 11th Street.
Feb. 4, 1:20 p.m. – Police responded to the 700 block of Seventh Street for a parking complaint.
Feb. 5, 2:15 a.m. – Stephen Rethman, Belle Plaine, reported phone harassment. The incident remains under investigation.
Feb. 5, 2:20 p.m. – Demarques Pledge, 20, Belle Plaine, was arrested at 1540 15th Street Apartment 1 on Linn County warrants for failure to appear. He was turned over to Linn County Sheriff’s deputies.
Feb. 6, 10:20 a.m. – Ambulance assist in the 700 block of Ninth Street.
Feb. 7, 6:26 p.m. – Responding to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 21 north of 15th Street, officers determined it had already been pulled out when they arrived.
Feb. 7, 7:58 p.m. – No charges were filed as a result of a reported disturbance at 1502 Third Avenue.
Feb. 8, midnight – Ambulance assist in the 1300 block of 11th Avenue.
Feb. 8, 12:17 a.m. – Ambulance assist in the 1500 block of Fifth Avenue.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
